Hello,
I'm interested in creating/performing an invisible theater piece. The participants are to be a mix of American and Slovene actors, and the themes will largely deal with American image abroad. The piece(s) would be performed in Slovenia. This is also an experiment in rehearsal technique: I want to charge the American actors and Slovene actors to workshop seperately, and then bring them together in the period just before performance.
I am not a trained Boal-ist nor have I had any workshop training in this field, but am extremely interested and have done the requisite reading (not at all presuming this is "training"; it's all that's been available to me).
As I understand it, the actors are working from a script, and the piece is not meant to be improvised. Nor is this type of theatre meant to be "therapy": simply put, this is a performance based on social themese wherein the audience is unaware it is an audience.
My question concerns the actors: is there danger in this for them? Are there safety issues of which I must be made aware? While I hope to create *lively* performances, I don't anticipate overt antagonism.
Anyone with any experience, advice, etc... is greatly appreciated!!
